I work as an assistant buyer in the Paper Crafting department in Hobby Lobby's corporate office in Oklahoma City. I work under two buyers to maintain vendor relations, process purchase orders and sales confirmations, and manage samples.

I worked at the front desk and greeted visitors of Oklahoma State University. I also helped check in and organize students who were tabling for various campus organizations, and answered any questions students had about campus and the resources offered.

In this role, I assisted with market setup, completing tasks such as painting walls, hanging shelving, reading planograms to make displays, ticketing products, and merchandising products to prepare for Market Week. During Total Home & Gift and Apparel Market Weeks, I assisted buyers in writing orders, helped maintain the showroom, and communicated with sales reps. I was also given the opportunity to work with the National Accounts Team to write orders for large accounts such as Von Maur and other national corporations.

I worked with customers, both men and women, to help them find items they needed and worked to provide the best customer service experience possible. I also helped merchandise the store on a weekly basis, modeled for pictures when new items came in, and posted on the daily Instagram stories.

I worked with customers looking for mother of the bride, bridesmaids, prom, or special occasion dresses and helped them find the dress that best fit their criteria. I styled the customers, helped check them out, and ordered any dresses they needed. I was assigned customers upon their arrival based on their specific needs, and would give my input and recommendations for what dresses I believed they would love. The Oklahoma City branch of David's Bridal is also the biggest and busiest branch in the company, so while working here I was able to work with brides from all over the country.

In 2021, I worked alongside designers to plan and organize Oklahoma State University's Fashion Show. This included planning out music, models, and hair and makeup for my select designer. I also helped run the social media to get more exposure for our event.

In 2023, I worked with the Euphoria Fashion Show to create a pop-up shop to raise money for scholarships in the college, as well as funding for the show in years to come. As part of this process, I contacted wholesalers to get products, made budget plans, tracked merchandise, and merchandised a space for the shop to create a smooth and profitable experience for the college.

While working here, I was in charge of running the social media platforms, photographing new clothing, doing visual merchandising for the entire store, and selling items to customers. This job was where I first realized I wanted to make merchandising into a career and I learned so much about marketing through visual displays.
